A whole-school participation system that builds active, engaged, ready-to-learn students through simple daily movement.
Free to join. Flexible to run. Backed by 12+ years of school-based development, research, and real-world implementation.
Students build movement habits by working towards 100km over time through walking, running or other huff and puff movement.
Every lap counts. Every student can experience success.
Also adaptable for sporting clubs, community organisations, and group running or walking programs.
Built around 3 systems
100km Club is built around three simple systems that help schools create environments where students can move more, feel connected and experience success.
Together, the Participation, Recognition and Identity Systems support what schools value most: active students, positive relationships, a strong sense of belonging, and opportunities for every student to achieve.
🟢 Participation System
MOVE
Students build their individual 100km journey over time.
Every school is different. That's why 100km Club offers flexible tracking options to suit your time, staffing, parent volunteers and goals.
No complex systems. No barriers to participation. Just students moving, showing up and making progress.
Through regular participation, students learn that achievement is built one lap at a time through effort, consistency and persistence.
Schools can choose:
1. How laps are captured during sessions
Wristband or paper strip tallies
Stamps or punch holes
Paddle-pop sticks, tokens or pegs
QR code cards
2. How progress is recorded over time
Student tracker sheets (provided)
Spreadsheet tracking with automated student distance totals, class participation, year level participation, house points and attendance data (provided)
QR-linked digital system managed by school
🟣 Recognition System
ACHIEVE
Progress and participation are visible, celebrated and valued.
Recognition helps students see that effort matters and that success is achieved through persistence over time.
By celebrating milestones, students develop confidence, motivation and a sense of achievement while learning the value of setting goals and working towards them.
Recognition may occur at both an individual and whole-school level.
Individual milestones e.g., every 5km (mini certificates) and at 25km, 50km, 75km, 100km certificates and stickers, badges & shirts, &/or medals/trophy.
Class, year level and house participation milestones (1 participant = 1 point) e.g., certificates, trophy, free physical activity time, house free dress day and more.
🔵 Identity System
BELONG
Students build a sense of belonging through shared participation.
100km Club helps create a visible culture where movement, encouragement and achievement are celebrated across the school community.
As students participate together, they develop connections with peers, staff and families while strengthening their sense of belonging to both the club and the school.
The visible culture of movement and belonging may include:
participant shirts (including house colours)
recognition opportunities e.g., class shout outs, school parade, school newsletter, school FB posts
shared participation goals e.g. highest class, year level or house participation.
